    Church Workday

Thanks to everyone who came out to the work day at Southway. Southway has been hosting our pack and providing meeting space for us for 30+ years. It felt great to give back. We made a real impact to our host.  We patrolled the entire grounds and picked up every bit of trash.  We removed major debris, such as a tarp, lumber, an a large timber.  We also did a lot of touch-up painting inside the church, replaced a handle on the stove, and cleaned all of the floors. The Scouts and their families had a very fun and rewarding day of service.  You can check out more pictures on…

    April Pack Meeting

Roaring Laughter & Fire Relay Thanks for everyone attending our April pack meeting.  We had a great time with the jokes from the Bear’s Roaring Laughter Adventure.  They proved that laughter was indeed contagious, as the rest of our Scouts couldn’t help but tell jokes of their own. Thanks to our Wolf Den for putting on our activity, the Fire Relay.   It was great fun to see all our Scouts and siblings enjoying the silliness and the competition. Awards & Advancement We had another awesome month of advancement with our Scouts.  Remember that the “season” ends May 31st.  All advancement has to be entered – and approved by a leader,…

    Spring Campout 2018

Our Webelos den planned a GREAT spring campout at Huntsville State Park.  Beyond having a ton of fun, all of the Scouts in attendance made great strides in their advancement and adventures – many required for their next rank. We enjoyed lots of cooking, a fire building competition, boating with Mr. Trammel, a nature hike – complete with an alligator program, American flag retirements – and TONS and TONS of fun. For pictures of baby alligators, and plenty of other great stuff, check us out on Facebook.

    Holding Their Attention

Many thanks to our Webelos Den leaders who taught fire building and fire safety to the boys at our Pack Meeting tonight. One of our district Unit Commissioners visited tonight and was very complimentary. He noted how the leaders taught the skills, answered questions, ensured safety, and kept the boys engaged throughout the lesson. No small feat to do for more than a dozen boys, for more almost a half hour. Thanks again our leaders who dedicate so much of their time and effort.

    February 2018 – Update #2

Hello Scouts & Scouters: Another update for the month of February to help everyone stay connected. Catch them Being Cheerful Remember that we’re working on “A Scout is Cheerful” in February. Be sure to point out when your Scouts (or their siblings) are being cheerful – especially when it would be easy not to be. You can also point out when you see others being cheerful at school, the church or at the store. Books, TV shows and other media are also great places to help point out cheerful behavior. The more we can point out examples, the times they will see the behavior modeled. Let’s work on positively reinforcing…
