    Holding Their Attention

Many thanks to our Webelos Den leaders who taught fire building and fire safety to the boys at our Pack Meeting tonight. One of our district Unit Commissioners visited tonight and was very complimentary. He noted how the leaders taught the skills, answered questions, ensured safety, and kept the boys engaged throughout the lesson. No small feat to do for more than a dozen boys, for more almost a half hour. Thanks again our leaders who dedicate so much of their time and effort.

    February 2018 – Update #2

Hello Scouts & Scouters: Another update for the month of February to help everyone stay connected. Catch them Being Cheerful Remember that we’re working on “A Scout is Cheerful” in February. Be sure to point out when your Scouts (or their siblings) are being cheerful – especially when it would be easy not to be. You can also point out when you see others being cheerful at school, the church or at the store. Books, TV shows and other media are also great places to help point out cheerful behavior. The more we can point out examples, the times they will see the behavior modeled. Let’s work on positively reinforcing…

    Walking Sticks

Picture of the walking staffs that were presented as tokens of our appreciation over the last two weeks. Left is the staff that was presented to Pastor Hess of Southway Community Church for their decades of hospitality and support to Pack 404, during Scout Sunday services. The center and left were presented to Jason McClure and Deborah Schwettmann Marino for their years of service to Pack 404, during the Blue & Gold to commemorate their Cub Scouting journeys with their boys. Thanks to Bill Clarke for donating the staffs, and putting everything together for us.

2017 Blue & Gold, and Crossover

We had a great evening with our Arrow of Light crossover into Boy Scouting, and our annual Blue & Gold to celebrate the birthdate of Boy Scouting. Many, many thanks to our AOL parents for planning a wonderful evening.  And extra thanks to the Dawson Diamonds for helping to serve and making the evening run smoothly. Congratulations to our Scouts who received their Arrow of Light, and for crossing over into Troop 404.  And Congrats to all of our Scouts who won awards in the cake decorating contest.  And thanks again to the Dawson Diamonds for judging the cakes. As always, more pictures in the Facebook album.
