February 2018 – Update #1

Hello Scouts & Scouters:

I wanted to share with everyone what is going on this week in our Pack.

Den Meetings

Everyone is beginning their planning for the March camping trip. Additionally, our Wolves are working on Adventures in Coins. Our Webelos are working on Cast Iron Chef and the Webelos Walkabout Adventures. Our Arrow of Light (AOL) Scouts are preparing for their Bridge Crossing in a couple of weeks.

Scout Sunday

We have five Scouts that are confirmed to attend the 11am service at Southway for Scout Sunday. The boys will be doing a responsive reading with the congregation regarding the Scout Law.

We’d like to have as many Scouts as possible attend to help promote Pack 404 and say thanks to the Church. We’ll be purchasing patches and/or pins (depending on what is still available). If you’re able to attend, please let me know by noon Thursday.

AOL Crossover and Blue & Gold

February 17th is coming soon. If you haven’t purchased Blue & Gold tickets for family and friends, please do so (the boys are covered).

You can purchase tickets online at our Square Store, and please RSVP on Scoutbook. Don’t forget about the cake baking event, and that dinner is being catered by Grazia Italian Kitchen.

A Scout is Cheerful

Our point of the Scout Law for February is “Cheerful”. Scouting reminds us that “A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy. Some people grumble when they are doing homework or losing a game. But, a Scout is Cheerful.”

Be sure to remind your Scouts of the need to be cheerful during times of work or adversity. More importantly, but sure to recognize and call out times when they are cheerful on their own accord.

Yours in Scouting,
Skip Clarke
